San Francisco is a nice city. One where we could live in. It’s big, it’s got all the perks of a big city. But it’s also very ‘cosy’. Unlike LA, which is just big and all highway. Somewhere in the city we took a wrong turn and ended up by the bay, so we drove around there a bit and found a little park from where we could see Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge.
Too bad we – again – didn’t have the time, for we could have visited the island and maybe some areas in the city. But we could just enjoy the bridge – which is totally huge by the way – and then we were on our way again.
In the evening we had just enough time to visit a tiny park called Muir Woods National Monument, just north of San Francisco. It has one of the last stands of redwoods in the area. It was very small (one hour roundtrip on foot) but also very nice. And this time, no snow chains required!
